If you are looking for a club to join then look no further, we are a mixed friendly yet competitive club and embrace members at all levels of ability.

Bowling for members is available at all levels, rolling up, internal activities (Points), internal competitions and competitive external leagues for both Ladies and Gentlemen.

Free qualified coaching is available for beginners or if you just want to iron out a problem with your bowling

Obligation of Membership

 

 

 

 

All members must assist in tea making duties on match days at least three times in the season. All members must take their turn as green steward.

If unavailable on the allotted day then the member must arrange his/her own replacement and inform the catering officer.

 

All members are asked to assist the Selection Committee by completing  the new Availabilty Sheets each month  It is important that if you put your names down on these  lists that you check to see if you are playing in clubhouse or the link on our website and tick your names off for availabilty. If you are not, contact the Captain of the Day to inform in. Please don't just take you names off of team list.

 

In roll ups, internal leagues and competitions the dress code is white above the waist and grey below.

 

In external leagues and competitions the dress code is Club shirts and white or grey below the waist as the various competitions   require.

 

Captains ask that members arrive for matches dressed smartly in Club shirts and white or grey below the waist according to the competition. For Roll Ups please wear plain White above the waist with Grey skirts or   trousers.

Men's Selection Committee:

Club Captain, Club Vice Captain, Club Junior Vice Captain, plus 1 elected member, Ron Richardson

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. Lancing British Legion 26th January at 7.15pm

 

BOWLING

The Management tries to offer a bowling programme to suit the interest and ability of all members. Fixtures include:

Roll-ups – Monday and Friday afternoons Friendly games throughout the  year

Leagues: Brighton and Hove Men's Evening League, Brodie Tray and Stracey Shield (Mixed) and The Adur Evening League  (Mixed).

Internal competitions

External matches including 'The Lancing Ladies' Open' 'Adur Top Teams' 'The Gladys and Edward Rowlands Competitions'

However, success in providing teams for these matches particularly Friendlies, depends on all playing members supporting the programme to the best of their ability and although this is not an obligation, we ask that every player puts his or her name down for at least three Friendly Matches per season to help the Captains fulfil these commitments.     Please could players also put their names down in good time for the Adur Top Teams Competition.

 

SOCIAL PROGRAMME

This year we do not have a Social Secretary so please could all members put forward their ideas, suggestions or offers of help for a Social Programme to the committee. The money we raise is very important as it is used for purchasing additional items for the club. However a good social programme is even more important for keeping in touch with our members, both playing and non-playing so please offer your support this   season.

 

Please note the dates for the Burch Shield and Peter Porter Cup will be displayed on the notice boards in the changing rooms after the start of the season.
