The compere was jack Jenkins. During the warm-up ends before the final started. He was talking to the crowd, and He asked Vinnie how old he was, also when his birthday was, and it was the week before. He also got Vinnie to tell the crowd that he had played Mark Royal the day before and they had drawn the match. So, he then offered Vinnie to go into the championship rink to have a roll. Les Gillett and Paul foster MBE were still having practice ends. They had both put 2 woods up and where 2 feet sort of the jack. Vinnie was given some woods to use and then managed to put draw both the top 2 players in the world with his first wood. Much to the cheers of the crowd.
